Let me say, my mentor has constantly reminded me that God always put you in a place where you NEED to be, rather or not it is the place you WANT to be. Over the past few weeks, she has said it time and time again. I had grown so frustrated with work (not because of the students). It almost felt that I was being engulfed by the frustration, that I feel to an extent, I was not dealing with myself completely and letting my emotions take control of my outlook. Let's be honest, we are human and we do have feelings, but we cannot let them always control how we perceive things. I learned part of this the hard way by letting myself become so stress, that I started having strong chest pains and my blood pressure to be elevated to point it never had been.
I think this past weekend, especially after church on Sunday, I truly began to listen to what my mentor had been saying to me all this time, "God always put you in a place where you need to be." I realize then God (although it is something you probably already know, but it has to be reinforced) always put you through situations to see how you can handle things. It's all a test. And the test is preparing you for your next level of greatness. At the end of the day, it is my choice how I handle the test God is giving to me. It is up to me how I conquer through it. It is up to me that I try to overcome obstacles so I can achieve greater and also help others.
It is amazing to see how much we can learn through different situations we are faced with. But the key is to surviving the rough times is not to surround yourself with negativity. Lastly, I am learning more and more, like the song says, "Trouble don't last always!"
